 Shadow Hearts takes the normal turn-based battle system and gives it a nice twist by introducing the Judgement Ring. Basically its a ring with a needle that spins around and you have to hit three areas in it to attack. If you hit the first one you get one hit, and so on, and depending on your weapon the areas may be smaller or bigger. It adds a nice flair and prevents you from just mashing the x button for attack and being done with it. The story is amazing as well. It's very deep and dark, and unlike most RPG's Shadow Hearts actually shows blood in the cut-scenes. The main character, Yuri Hyuga, has the ability to fuse with a monsters' soul from the graveyard as he is what you call a Harmonixer.
