What seems like a decade ago, I learned of RPG's and Final Fantasy VII from my cousins. Afterwards I decided to make a Final Fantasy based forum roleplay that was known as Dark Fantasy RPG (DFR) towards November 2003. At which time DFR grew at a rapid rate, and by February we had reached around 100 members. Well it would have been around 500 but I was constantly pruning inactive members. So 100 active roleplayers was quite an amazing feat. But then I decided it was time to move on so when March began I had decided it was time to move onto a bigger horizon of things, and setup a new board on clicdev, inwhich DFR became more than just roleplaying. DFR was now a general Final Fantasy board, with a great roleplaying section. But with a change of host, and category we also came with a new skin, banner, and removed RPG from the name to become known as Dark Fantasy.

While we were known as Dark Fantasy, we had complaints that many of our members parents thought was was a porn site. And that was unacceptable as we do not allow any type of porn or hentai on our sites, and if found on the boards we would most likely ban the member immediately and remove it as soon as possible! Anyways later I lost my internet, and several months later when I came back I found the site almost completly dead. With that it made me think of Forgotten Memories. Thus a skin change, as well as banner and name change was in order. Once I was back in action the site grew at a rapid rate. And by the time our one year aniversary was up we had over 1,000 members. So thanks to this I decided to buy us a domain and have the forum transferred where as I would begin on a webpage for the forum.

Several years later the site is still striving, even after having been attacked multiple times by hackers who wish to destroy us, and restarted the community forum at least a half-dozen times. A lot of fansites within the Final Fantasy community that we were associated with have vanished and in their place a lot of other smaller sites (mostly focused on just Final Fantasy XIII) have sprung forth. So here we are once again with a new layout change and hopefully you all will like it as we continue to add new content, improve the old, and focus on the community at hand as we bring you the latest Square-Enix and RPG news.

Version 1 - Gaming Grey
Description: Our original layout for Forgotten Memories. It was created by a friend known as Chaos King. I gave him a IPB Skin in exchange for him to create me the layout. Normally he would charge, but he needed a nice skin, and we were friends. So I requested a table layout, two navigations and gave the specifix hex codes to use. And this is the result. I really liked it, but the content boxes was too little thus overall it wasn't well liked. I decided to go with a lighter layout and requested one from a friend and that is the end of our version 1.

Version 2 - Star Ocean 3
Description: This layout was merely designed for a temporary change while our real v2 came, but it lasted a bit longer than expected so we decided to name it our version two. It features Fayt from Star Ocean: Till the end of time, and some girl from Shadow Hearts: Covenent. Many people really seemed to enjoy this one and they actually wanted it to be our layout rather than temporary. We soon went into Hiatus while we awaited our next layout though. And this layout can now be found for download in our free section!

Version 3 - Advent Children
Description: One of the last designs Kupo had done for us. It was awesome, and many people seem to think it was our best layout of all. It was themed after Advent Children. Version 3 lasted longer then any of our previous layouts aswell. Though I had to eventually remove the shoutbox due to spam, so the layout ended up having somethings not used. However when I lost my internet and was gone for several months, Forgotten Memories died. So when I got back I felt it was time for a change to show that we were still around, so that was the end of Version 3.

Version 4 - Grandia III
Description: At this time I was still learning how to design nice looking templates, and since I couldn't get in touch with our layout designer, I contacted a friend of mine known as Nitro Bahamut, otherwise known as Dan. He quickly agreed to design a layout for us and this was the outcome. Grandia III hadn't been out long, I had already beaten the game, and well you know me, I love the Grandia series. I actually liked this layout, however many people complained of it being too plain, not living up to the great designs of Version 3. So after a month or two of being up, I replaced it for version 5.

Version 5 - Kingdom Hearts II
Description: The first layout used for Forgotten Memories that I actually designed myself. I was still pretty new at layout designing at the time and had actually designed it around the same time version 4 was designed by Nitro. However I had decided not to use it, but since we needed a new layout, I decided to go ahead and use it for Version 5. I'm still learning all the time about layout designing however. So expect my next layouts to be much better!

Version 6 - Grandia III
Description: This time we did a Layout Competition and with a public poll this layout was voted the one to use. I forgot how long we used it though. It was a great layout though and the designer must have known about my liking of the series, lol. Thanks goes to Raijinken.net for the layout.

Version 7 - Versus Advent XIII
Description: Finally another layout designed by me and I truly out did myself on this one if I do say so. I did a IPB skin and Aardvark Topsite skin of this design as well, and started but never finished a vBulletin skin. This layout featured Advent Children, Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It was used for the site for about a year or more, and voted the most popular design by the visitors.

Version 8 - Return of Cecil
Description: The long awaited layout has arrived. Another layout designed by me, and this time much wider at 980 width. It features the return of my favorite Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy IV, thus I entitled the layout "Return of Cecil" after the main character. After being with a dark layout for so long I figured a light layout would be refreshing, and with it decided monitors are getting bigger so it was time for a wider layout, and thus I had room for a right-hand navigation like we had during our version 1. So this layout featured a return of many things other than the game it featured.
