Final Fantasy VII was released in 1997. It was a massive event in the RPG and gaming industry as it was not only the first major 3D roleplaying game, but a massive leap from Square-Enix (previously Square-Soft) earlier ports on the Super Nintendo. This began a new era of Square-Enix and Sony. There might possibly never be a game in the Final Fantasy series that can top this classic game which will never be forgotten.
